According to Google, my search comes up with diccionario libre that just says an insect that eats wood.

Is it woodworm?

Now my next question is:

What's the treatment? I have a chest of drawers that's leaking sawdust!

We had a man who sprayed things and who drilled holes in the wall. They go up the sockets apparently. You need a fumigador but I have no idea where there is one in your area.

When we redid our kitchen in DR, and pulled the cabinets away from the wall, we found a huge termite nest. Ugh. Knew they were there 'someplace' in the house, but to see it made my skin crawl.

We have damage on just about every door in the house, they all have to be replaced. [We cut down a large mahogany tree on our property - got the permits, in case anyone is wondering - aged and sent to the sawmill, will have doors made when we get down there]. Had the new kitchen made from andiroba - supposedly termites won't eat that. Old cabinets were pine.

Beeza, so far no problem with furniture, guess our doors are tastier.

Wishing you luck

Fumigating doesn't work.
Sure you kill a few million, which leaves a million more!
You need an international company,or a Dominican company, that puts out "baits" that the termites eat. They feed the "Queen",she dies,no more colony.
Takes some time,months,but it works.
Ever see a Dominican house with termite trails on the walls leading to "WOOD"?
What do Dominicans think is going on inside those trails/tunnels?
