HI IKEA AMAZON.COM Ikea has a tore as well here...they deliver free if your purchase is over 15000 pesos. They are great online, they have an online chat for questions. We use EPS a service that provides you with a Florida address and you have your items shipped there from any store online (I usually find a way to qualify for free shipping promos) therefore it goes to Florida free and then ships here and you pay the shipping cost for that when you pick the item up...not expensive and they have a great tracking system. I noticed Amazon now has a way you can check to see if the item you want can be shipped directly from them internationally. Hope this helps

Delivery via a Miami private mailbox service is the only option - many US retailers offer free shipping inside the US, so you only have to pay the private mailbox fee for delivery from Miami to the DR.

Compare rates between private mailbox companies like POBI, Aeropaq, EPS, Mail Boxes Etc.

If you order from an on line company in the US you will have to ship the item to a freight forwarding company through most likely Miami. There are a few that service the DR. You will pay high frieght and import duties.

Its pretty hard to beat Amazon or Ebay when you consider more than price. I use TransExpress which delivers to Bonao. Not sure about other carriers. Good Luck!

Ebay, Amazon, TigerDirect, Musician's Friend, ZZounds and others that will deliver to Miami and then use Encargopaq or other freight forwarder. In general anyone that will ship to Florida.

If you have the original seller ship to the DR, the costs will generally be much higher than if you use a Dominican freight forwarder

Mostly Amazon for me. Ships to my EPS address in Florida. I sometimes buy from others, if I find a better price. But mostly Amazon.

NO tax under $200, and EPS or any other freight forwarder has a US address, you use theirs, after establishing an account with them.

The companies that bring your orders to the DR are courier services. You sign up with one of them and they give you a PO box and a physical address for packages in Miami. They also give you a personal ID. When you place your order with with Amazon, eBay, etc., you give them the physical address, including your ID#. Whatever you order is sent to that address, then the courier service brings it to the DR. With most of these courier companies, you have to go to their local office to pick up your package.

For example, I use EPS. When my order arrives at the local office, I go there and pick it up.

EPS and many of the others send you emails so that you know when your package arrives.

all those mail forwarding companies charge per weight. occasionally, they may also apply what i call "weird package charge". say, you buy a bike, this is rather large and bulky so there may be extra charge. we use EPS too, very reliable. they have offices all over the country. you pay upon picking up your package, cash or credit card.

Just remember, it's about $5 US a pound for shipping charges.
You can also buy from Walmart, Best Buy, and most of the "Big Box" retailers in the USA.
AND, "CVS" and other pharmacy/vitamin/ health stuff, stores.

Via air Encargopaq is $3.80 US taxes included delivered to your door. For larger items they will quote you ocean freight at a lower rate per pound.

If you're in Santo Domingo, CPS are also excellent. They have an app and also send emails to advise when things are received in Miami, you can then pay their charges online and they will deliver to your door. I find that for lots of things, the quality is much better if you buy from the US and even when you take the shipping charges into account, it still works out better value than buying in the DR.
