My Dominican fiance has a passport (never used).. We are waiting for her Visa so that she can join me in the US... we vacationed in Bavaro last year.. I'm wondering if there are any other options for vacationing.. would appreciate any recommendations of places we might could vacation easily without needing anything more than her passport.. other islands maybe? Not wanting to spend a fortune, just considering options...
Thanks.. D.

Ehhh.... don't. You need a written invitation by a resident of proper repute to be given visa to visit the Dutch Antilles. Easy to get if you know someone there and local authorities are not as uptight as the government in far away The Hague would want. Different story with Aruba though(also territory of Dutch kingdom). There the rules are stricter and control is downright intolerant.

Any Central American country with the exceptions of Belize and Mexico. Dominicans can also visit Columbia, Ecuador, and Venezuela (sp) without too much trouble. I?m not sure about the other Caribbean islands. I?d look for countries that are territories of a more developed nation. Check out St. Lucia, St. Vincent, etc.

Citizens of Argentina, Chile, South Korea, Ecuador, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Peru, Liechtenstein, Uruguay can visit the DR without a visa or tourist card. As per diplomatic reciprocity, the same should apply for Dominican nationals when visiting these countries.
