I am sure not too many people know of Rambuntan.
It's a spiny reddish brown fruit with a sweet fruit, similar to lychee, that must be sucked off the seed.
I have heard it is in the DR but I have not seen it on the North coast.

If there are any seeds available I am sure it could be grown here.
I feel in love with it in Costa Rica , where it is called Mamon China but it is also known as soapberry.

It is a very healthy fruit as well, once touted by Ophra.

They have multiple farms throughout the island. The rambutans come from a place near Cotui. There are a few trees at their Los Brazos location, but you can't just show up, you need to book a tour. Not sure if the rambutans in Los Brazos are in season right now.

tainofarm.com for more info

If you want easy, then just watch for the rambutans in Playero in Sosua -

I'm familar with it.
First time I tried one was in Thailand.
I like em. Purchased them here in
Santiago in La Sirena on Del Sol last
summer. Been looking for them but have
not seen them since.
