Where to find Amber?

I am coming to the Dominican Republic in two weeks. I will be staying in Boca Chica. Where is the closest place I can go to get amber stones? My mother who designs jewelry is looking for stones to bring back to the USA which she can design. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

There is a store in puerto plata, that sell amber.It almost has the same logo as the Jurrasic park movie. I know that not to close to where you are going, but that's all i know.

James, You'll find The Amber Museum in the city in Puerto Plata near Central Park (I think?!). The is also a store in the Plaza in the Playa Dorada complex.

referring to..
Also there is a nice Amber store in Sosua as well, fine craftmanship.
