Here is a list of resorts I am looking at for this winter's vacations. Any info anyone can share on the good and /or bad of each would be helpful: LTI in POP or either one in Punta Cana, Catalonia in Punta Cana, or the RIU Mambo in POP. Stayed at the Natura Park last year in Punta Cana and it was great... but like to try different places. Thanks Allan

We stayed at Riu Merengue which is right next door to Riu Mambo and absolutely loved it. It was one of the nicest resorts we've been too and we've been all over the Carribean.

Hi Allan. If you wish to enjoy your vacations i recommend you not to visit the lti pop. I've been there and it's not a good hotel. The Riu sounds good and the catalonia too. I would also suggest you casa del mar in la romana or a new resort name Santana Beach Resort in la Romana too. If you would like to know more about good hotels is DR why dont you call us at Amigos Tours 212 568 1354
regards
Carmen
P.S. ask for Ray Modesto

I was in June 2000 in the Riu Merengue and it was so good that I go back in November. I'll recomend you the riu-hotels. Have a nice trip and maybe we see each other there.

Allan--We stayed at the Iberostar Barvaro two years ago. We are planning on returning there in March. It was great. Friends of my stayed at the Iberostar this past summer and throughly enjoyed it. Their one regret is that they didn't upgrade to the Barvaro. Where ever you go, I am sure you will love. I have also heard that the Campo da Campro. It is supposed to be one of the best tours there. Rest assure that we will try it in March.

Hi;

Just to a plug in for our favourite resort in POP. We have been to the Gran Ventana in Playa Dorada three times and have booked ro February 2001. Great food, marvelous service, and for us, a very relaxing atmosphere. There are tours which take off from there if you feel like indulging in such, casinos nearby, and something like a 3 peso bus ride to Puerta Plata if you want to rub shoulders with the locals.
