Hi all
I'll go to Casa Marina Bay mid of Febr.
Can anybody give information on the resort, its beaches and the quality of snorkelling and shelling at that place?
Thanks for your comments.

Re: Who knows Casa Marina Bay Resort?

The resort looks very nice. I have been past it. Stunning area. Excellent beach.

You should be able to find much more on the area on www.samana.net (link below).

Re: Who knows Casa Marina Bay Resort?

Hi Susanne
Thanks for the quick response. I'm glad to hear that my choice is a good one.
May I ask 2 additional questions?
- Can I exchange monney outside the hotel (Bank, ATM)?
- Does the hotel provide an internet access facility?
Thanks again. Regards
Catherine

Re: Who knows Casa Marina Bay Resort?

These kinds of questions I am afraid I cannot answer. I haven't stayed at the hotel, only been on the beach in front of it and had a drink inside it. It looks nice.

Have you tried their own web page - www.casamarinahotels.com?

I doubt you will find any ATMs in Las Galeras. It is a hamlet rather than a town. Nice and very quiet. If you are looking for lively night life etc. this is not the place. If you want stunning beauty, serenity and a "get away from it all" kind of holiday this is the right spot.

I hope somebody else can help you out with these specific questions. You can also try to look at the review section of www.debbiesdominicantravel.com - link below.

Susanne

Re:Just got Back- see the whales!

We were just there for 2 days. It is a beautiful resort, nice views. The beach is quite narrow, but nice. The resort is quiet and not crowded. Our only complaint was that the food was mediocre on the best of days. I would not return there for this reason--but I am very fussy about food. In our travels here, we have found that the resort money exchanges give good exchange rates, and I would not rely on bank machines--we had a friend who was just in Samana and was unable to use her card at any machines that week. Whatever you do, go to look for whales while you are there. We did, and it was an amazing and very moving experience. I would highly recommend going out with Kim Beddall through Victoria Marine Tours in Samana. Her boat is good (we were out in pretty bumpy seas), her crew is great, and for $30US it is a pretty good deal--we were out for three and a half hours, and spent some wonderful time with a group of three whales.

Enjoy, Alyssa

Re:Just got Back- see the whales!

Until sometime in March, but I don't think they keep a very tight schedule. I understand they arrived a couple of weeks early this year--I don't know how that affects thier departure time.
