Women's flip flop type shoes in Sosua needed

I don't have a lot of experience in the local stores in Sosua so I am looking for recommendations on where to go to look for flip flop type shoes for my wife. Nothing high fashion, just to wear around the house and of sufficient quality that they won't fail causing her to fall over and break her neck. I know here used to be s 2nd hand store called La Pulga or something like that but it has changed locations so often I no longer know where it is. The pictures below will give you an idea of what type of footwear we are looking to find. Anyone have a suggestion on where we should go and look?

While most clothing stores in El Batey will probably have the flip flops (chancletas) you are looking for, more than likely you will be paying for overpriced merchandise at gringo prices, or even worse at the Chinese outlets on Pedro Clisante.

If you don't mind heading down to Los Charamicos, on the main street (Eugenio Kunhardt) go to Casa Felipe on the left hand side as you are traveling down the main street. If they don't have anything to your liking continue down and you will find four or five more stores. All these stores cater primarily to Dominicans and are owned, run and employ Dominicans. You will get a better deal on something probably more suitable for daily use and also help out the REAL local economy who certainly need it.

Thanks NY. I don't know that area very well but I did find Casa Felipe on google maps, so I'll try there the next time I'm in the area. I* have not been into Los Charamicos before except to go to Caribe Tours, the pharmacy and pay the cable bill. These other stores you reference I assume are on the same street just further along?

Go ahead laugh. I deserve it. I have not been to a clothing store in this country yet so I have absolutely no idea where to find what my wife needs and she has no desire to to go on a scavenger hunt on the back of a pasola so I need to find a decent selection before I can take her to have a look.

Would the beach shacks have those, or this place Tienda variedades Sosua.

Check that big Chinese store on Pedro Clisante in the center of Sosua.. They have them.

They are a of a bit higher quality than a "beach shack" would provide, but any boutique catering to ladies would have them. They are available in Jumbo as well, but you will pay extra sin reason.
Whistle out to the motoconcho on your corner, show him the photo, and ask him to find them for you.
He will return within the hour with at least 4 or 5 different options.
Don't forget to tip the motoconcho, and say gracias.

CanGringo. These are bad for the toes. Buy here some Birkenstock types and you will kiss her feet daily after a couple of weeks...some crema and there you go .

It is so refreshing to see high caliber DR only related posts on this outstanding website!

I was going to ask where to find shorts in Sosua DR.
Then I realized that successful men don't wear them in public in Sosua
Carry on DR.
This website is riveting and informative.

Keep on deleting every post that does not mention DR in it.
After all what happens in the outside world has no bearing on what happens in the DR.
Maybe IMF transfers to the DR and CV19, surely that's stretching it already.

Where can I find cast iron frying pans and Dijon catsup in Sosua, Playero does not seem to carry it.
