Dominican-American actress Zoe Saldaña continues to reap awards as the momentum builds up for her shot at winning an Oscar this 2025. Saldaña this past week was awarded the Critics Choice Awards prize for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie “Emilia Perez”.
Among cheers and tears, Saldaña accepted the prize, noting that the critics have been hard on the film, yet she said she read the comments as feedback. Calling the film, which has a leading 13 Oscar nominations, including hers as the Best Supporting Actress, the “biggest challenge in {her] life,” Saldaña praised the people that made the movie happen, the cast, crew and designers. Saldaña also joked that her husband was in the bathroom when she received her prize.
