75,000 British tourists

Last week the ambassador for Great Britain, Dick Thomson, said that some 75,000 tourists will be arriving from Britain, a 15,000 increase over 1995. The Dominican Republic has been participating in the World Travel Market tourist show held in November in London, and, as a result, local tour operators and hoteliers have made contact with the British travel trade resulting in the mass selling of Dominican holiday packages.
