The Russian airline Aeroflot began flights to the Dominican Republic landing in Puerto Plata last week. A committee from the Minister of Tourism received the first passengers to fly directly from Moscow to Puerto Plata. Some 80 tourists arrived on the first flight which had a capacity for 200. A spokesman from the Ministry, Fernando Nuñez, said that it will participate in the International Tourism Fair that will be held in Moscow this coming March.
