The Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil has suspended the licenses of Taesa and Air Europe flights on the grounds that they have not deposited all the required documents. The measure affected large groups of Europeans who were forced to seek alternative ways of leaving the country. Taesa and Air Europe had been exploiting the rights to fly to Europe held by Dominicana Airlines, the state carrier, which has not been operating for years but, instead, leases its routes to other carriers.
