The contest to select Miss Dominican Republic will be held on Saturday, 23 March at 8:30 pm in the Teatro La Fiesta at the Hotel Jaragua. The event is being organized by fashion designer Jorge Diep. The contest will be conducted by Dominican beauty queens Vielka Valenzuela, Mariasela Alvarez and Puerto Rican Carlos Ponce. Mariasela is a former Miss World. Members of the jury are Lupita Jones, Miss Universe 1991, Deborah Carthy Deu, Miss Universe 1995, Victorio Zevianni, Alan Sin, Mauricio Zeilic and Cynthia Klitbo, Also Carlos Camara, Jean Carlos Simancas, Viviana Gibelli, Sara Castany and Biby Gaitan. Special guests include beauty queens from Colombia, Puerto Rico and Osmel Sousa, director of the Miss Venezuela contest.
