Defensa Civil has prohibited swimmers from many beaches during Semana Santa. All of them are already considered dangerous and a massive influx of swimmers could result in fatal accidents.
The affected beaches include those on the islas Los Pinos and Las Maticas in Boca Chica. Likewise, in the National District beaches of Gringos, Lindas, Manresa, La Posada de Juancho, en Manoguayabo and access to the beach that borders the Centro Vacacional de Haina will also be banned.
In San Pedro de Macorís: Playas Villa del Mar, del Muerto, Marota and Punta Pescadora.
In La Romana: Playa Las Tres Aguas de la Colita and Balneario del Río Chavón, La Represa, Río Dulce, Charco de los Indios and El Copey.
Puerto Plata: Playa Acapulco, Poza del Castillo and the Malecón beaches. Also Balneario El Canal and La Hilera (in front of the Cabarete cemetery).
Barahona: San Rafael, Playas del Caño, Palito Seco, Acapulco, Saladilla, Los Patos.
Azua: Caney, De los Negros, Bibeya and Las Charcas.
