D.R. to promote tourism in U.S.

The Tourism Promotion Council (CPT), with the sponsorship of American Express, will participate in the CHA/CTO Spring Trade Show to be held in eight cities in the United States.

From 29 April to 9 May, the CPT will be promoting the Dominican Republic and its member hotels in the cities of Providence, Washington, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, Houston, Tampa and Orlando. These events are organized by the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) and the Caribbean Tourism Organization and seek to provide tour operators and travel agencies in the United States with the tools to sell the Caribbean. Upwards of 2,000 people in the trade attend these shows.

American Airlines, as in past years, will be collaborating with the Dominican participants. After each event, a seminar on “How to sell the family market in the Caribbean” will be held. The CPT has previously participated in the travel trade shows held in Moscow, Berlin, Colombia, and Italy.

The D.R. only recently rejoined the Caribbean Tourism Organization.
