The Colombian airline Ases is interested in covering the route Bogota-Puerto Plata-Santo Domingo-Bogota using a B727-200. Mr. Angel S. García Alecón, representing the Ministry of Tourism, and representatives of the Asociación de Hoteles y Restaurantes de Sosua y Cabarete, the management of the Puerto Plata International Airport and other tourist industry executives, met with the airline’s representatives in Puerto Plata last week.
To promote the new service, Mr García Alecón said that Ases has scheduled a familiarization trip on 6 June with journalists from several cities in Colombia. He said the airline would bring in tourism from Colombia and also from other major sources of customers in South America.
