TAP Air Portugal announced an increase in the number of flights between Santo Domingo and Lisbon, in response to the summer travel demand. Carlos Chevalier, general manager for the airline in Santo Domingo, said that instead of a weekly flight, Air Portugal will now fly twice a week to the Dominican Republic with a new Monday flight beginning in June. Air Portugal will be offering those interested in flying to Europe the choice of departing Santo Domingo’s Las Americas International Airport on Mondays at 3:45 pm or on Thursdays at 2:35 pm.
They are using Airbuses on the route. Passengers can make onward connections to London, Madrid, Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Vienna, Zurich and other European cities. Air Portugal has now been flying to Santo Domingo for four years. Its offices are at Plaza Merengue, on Av. 27 de Febrero, corner of Tiradentes. Tel. 472-1441.
