The Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino has announced the appointment of a new assistant to the general manager, Mr. Ed Serrano, has been transferred to Santo Domingo from the Renaissance Jamaica Grande Hotel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, where he was the food and beverage manager. Mr Serrano will also be in charge of food and beverages at the Jaragua Hotel. Born in Ecuador, he studied at Montclair State college in New Jersey. He began his career with Hyatt, and came to the Dominican Republic in 1976 as food and beverage manager at Casa de Campo, La Romana and Les Canaris. There after he worked at Hoteles Colon International (Quito, Ecuador), Carnation Restaurants (Mexico City), Hotel Queen Mary (Long Beach, California), Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino (Las Vegas, Nevada), the Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort (Snowbird, Utah) and the Aladdin Hotel & Casino (Las Vegas, Nevada). He is married to Helen Serrano and has two children, Eduardo and Clara.
