The Aguilas Cibaeñas won again on Monday, this time breaking the losing streak of not having won in four games in their home base city of Santiago. On Sunday, 30 November, they broke a similar losing spell, as they had previously not won a single game in five attempts at the Santo Domingo Quisqueya Ball Park. The Aguilas, 1996-97 champions of the Dominican Winter Baseball League, defeated the Escogido Lions 5-4 in Santo Domingo. The Tigres del Licey lead the League with a 19-10 record. The Leones are second, with 17-13, followed by the Aguilas Cibaeñas (15-15), 4.5 games away. The Azucareros del Este (13-16) are in fourth place, the Gigantes del Nordeste (12-17) in fifth and the Estrellas Orientales are in last place (12-17).
