Christmas colds

Dr. Bernardo Defilló warned of an increase in the incidence of the common cold. He said the new virus strain has been imported from North America. The physician explained that the cold is brought to the country by persons who seasonally travel to the D.R. from colder climates. He recommended rest and ingestion of liquids as the best cure for the common cold. Dr. Defilló, interviewed by Hoy newspaper, alerted that during the Christmas season, there is an increase in cases of cerebral thrombosis, arterial hypertension, problems with diabetics and coronary cases. He recommended moderate consumption of sweets and fatty foods, and exercise plans.
