Attorney General Dr. Abel Rodríguez del Orbe says that fighting corruption for him does not mean turning justice into a circus or a witch hunt. The district attorney of the National District, Francisco Domínguez Brito, favors following through with cases denounced by the media during the past years, including some that occurred during the government of Salvador Jorge Blanco of the PRD. He mentioned the case of former President Jorge Blanco himself, and cases such as the Ministry of Education, National Lottery and Dominicana Airlines that were initiated during the previous Balaguer administrations and abandoned by the judiciary. Corruption in the PRD government was dwarfed by corruption cases occuring during the more recent PRSC government.
