Supreme Court of Justice removed from office the president of the Court of Appeals of Montecristi, Ruben Gonzalez Lopez, on Friday, 12 December. Montecristi judges Godofredo Rodriguez Torres and Ramon Aristides Madera, first and second substitutes of the removed judge, visited the Listin Diario newspaper to express their agreement with decisions of the judiciary. Recently it was revealed in the press that eight judges of the Court of Appeals of that city had purchased lands illegally sold by the Dominican Agrarian Institute. The judges returned the titles to the Attorney General in order to avoid being prosecuted by justice.
