The Gallup-Hoy poll said that most Dominicans are looking forward to the Christmas season. Despite the high cost of living and the blackouts, 71 of every 100 Dominicans said they look forward with enthusiasm and glee to the Christmas celebrations. The poll showed that more men (72%-69%) have more Christmas spirit than women. The Gallup poll also revealed that the main concerns of the population are the high cost of living, the lack of electricity, and the lack of job opportunities.
