PRSC leaders interested in an alliance with PLD

The acting president of the PRSC, Donald Reid Cabral, said that his organization is interested in an alliance with other political forces for the next congressional and municipal election. Nevertheless, he said that this is not the right time to be talking about alliances. Danilo Medina, political strategist for the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD), had said earlier that the PLD was holding talks with the PRSC to reach an agreement to take joint candidates to the municipal and congressional election. Leading officers of the PRSC denied the talks had taken place with party officials. The PRSC has yet to elect its candidates for the municipal and congressional elections. While the PLD has chosen its candidates, the party leadership reserves the right to assign 20% of the candidacies.
