The Ministry of Tourism has announced that, as of February of 1998, the government will sign agreements primarily with French investors, who have presented their plans to the Ministry of Tourism for the tourism development of the lands. Minister of Tourism Felix Jiménez said that the lands of the Parque Nacional Jaragua, which were affected by the irregular sales of land allegedly promoted by Moises Marchena and Pedernales senator Feliz Pérez, will not be touched by the tourism developments.
