The Chamber of Commerce passed a bill which reduces the tax on airline tickets from 20% to 10%, modifying Law 11-92. The bill had the strong support of the local travel agency community which said that the high tax was encouraging Dominicans to purchase the longer portion of their tickets from travel agencies in Miami or Puerto Rico. The bill has been sent to the Executive Branch for approval.
