Minister of Tourism Felix Jiménez forecast that for the November-April winter tourism season some 450,000 cruise ship passengers could dock in Santo Domingo. He said that if all these passengers choose to come on land they could spend up to RD$360 million, mostly benefiting areas adjacent to the Port of Santo Domingo. He said that up to September, some 230,062 passengers had docked at ports of Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo and Isla Catalina in La Romana. As of December, the ships can dock at the Sans Souci terminal or the Don Diego terminal on the western side of the Port of Santo Domingo.
