Moisés Marchena, the Barahona businessman who was arrested for his alleged participation in the irregular appropriation of government lands in the Bahia de las Aguilas beach area, was sent to the Monte Plaza jail by the district attorney’s office. Marchena has said that the move against him is political, and seeks to stop Pedernales senator Antonio Féliz Pérez from being reelected for his province. He has said he will not return his disputed property titles.
