President Leonel Fernández went back to the Southwest, the most impoverished region of the country, which he had just visited the previous week, to distributed his entire Christmas bonus, amounting to RD$90,000. The President distributed his salary in 450 envelopes, each of RD$200. Juan Deláncer, personal secretary of the President, said that President Fernandez wanted to give something of his, following the calling of Jesus.
