A group of businessmen, many of which are parents of children in the American School of Santo Domingo, located in Cuesta Hermosa III, announced the buy-out of the Sociedad Educativa Nacional, S.A., the owner of the American School. The group is presided by Roberto Serrano, president of Peravia Industrial. He said an investment of over RD$8 million pesos would be made. Other members of the board are Marcial Najri, vice president; Manuel de Jesús Viñas, treasurer; Fernando Rainiri, secretary; María Cristina Moré and Alberto de los Santos, representatives of the professors and the Parents Association. This association is presided over by Alberto de los Santos, president; Alberto del Pino, vice president; Giovanna Bonelly de Dipino, secretary; Danilo Troncoso, treasurer, Deisy Cepeda and Yanery Ayala, members. Economist Andrés Dauhajre was also very active in the school’s financial restructuring. The parents seek to convert it into the most prestigious in the country.
