Dominican Pedro Mart?nez, the highest paid baseball player in the Major Leagues, and winner of the 1997 Cy Young pitching award, will open for the Boston Red Sox in that team’s first game at the start of the 1998 baseball season in the Untied States. This is Martinez’s first year with the Boston team.
