On Wednesday, 29 April, some 2,000 persons will be able to enjoy the exquisite interpretations by the three performers that won the International Van Cliburn 1997 contest, one of the most prestigious in the world. The piano virtuosos will be accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra directed by José Antonio Molina, Carlos Piantini and Julio de Windt. The soloists are Aviram Reichert, bronze medalist; Yakov Kasman, silver medalist; and Jon Nakamatsu, gold medalist. The presentation is promoted by the Fundación Sinfonía and sponsored by E. León Jimenes. The piano players will perform: Edvard Grieg, Concert for piano and Orchestra in La Minor, Op. 16; Sergei Prokofiev, Concert for piano and orchestra in Sol Minor, Op. 16; and Sergei Rachmaninov, Concert for piano and orchestra No. 3 in Re Minor, Op. 30.
