Yeruham Scharovsky, one of the most outstanding orchestra directors of Israel, will direct the National Symphony Orchestra at the National Theater on Wednesday, 13 May. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Scharovsky has performed with the most important orchestras in Israel, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Argentina and Brazil. In 1990, Maestro Zubin Mehta chose him as the young artist of the year, inviting him to direct the Annual Gala Concert of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Thereafter, he was invited to direct the National Symphony Orchestra of Israel, and has subsequently performed for more than 70 recordings. Scharovsky was recently chosen by the Kurt Weill Organization of New York City to direct the world premier of the mega opera production, The Eternal Road, to premier in Kremnitz, Germany. The opera will later be staged in Toronto, New York City, Venice, Krakov, Sidney, Paris, Berlin and Tel Aviv.
