The government announced the completion of the Aeropuerto Internacional de Arroyo Barril in Samaná for this August. The airport will contribute to the development of tourism in the Northeast. The works are carried out by the Spanish firm, Agroman. The government has spent over RD$240 million on the construction of the airport that will only serve small airplanes. It is expected that American Eagle will service this airport with regular flights from Puerto Rico.
