Government puts price tag on state flour mill

El Siglo reported that Molinos Dominicanos, the state flour mill’s assets have been assessed at a minimum RD$218.2 million (about US$14.5 million) by the Comisión de Reforma y Capitalización de la Empresa Pública. The organization is in charge of the privatization of state companies, and seeks 50% participation of the private sector. While potentially profitable, the flour mill has been affected by bad administration and government corruption, and thus has been a burden to tax payers.
