Santo Domingo is one of the cheapest cities to travel to and live in in Latin America, according to a study of the cost of living and travel carried out by the Latin Trade magazine and reported by El Siglo. The magazine reached the conclusion after adding up the costs of staying at a five star hotel, renting an apartment in a residential area, and the prices of consumer items such as a medium-sized sedan vehicle, a cup of coffee, a pack of cigarettes and a hamburger with potato chips.
