Private power supplier disconnects from CDE

Radhamés Segura confirmed newspaper reports that Dominican Power Partners has disconnected their Los Minas V and Los Minas power plants, which has resulted in an increase in power outages in the city of Santo Domingo. He confirmed the company disconnected because the state electricity utility, CDE, owes RD$200 million. CDE purchases power for US$8 to US$9 million a month from the company.
