The Office for the Promotion of Foreign Investment in the DR (OPI) will host the "First Roundtable of Caribbean Investment Promotion Agencies" March 19-20 in Santo Domingo’s Jaragua Hotel. The event is sponsored by the World Bank Group’s Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS) and Bank affiliates the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). The event will bring together investment promotion agencies from throughout the Caribbean to discuss how the region’s nations can better attract foreign investment. In addition to participation of experts from IFAS, IFC and MIGA, those of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Secretariat of the Caribbean Common Market (CARICOM) are expected.
