President Leonel Fern?ndez appointed a new Governor of Santiago. The post had been vacant for many months after businessman Marcelo Berm?dez resigned. The new governor, Ram?n Ventura Camejo is a militant government party man. He will be based in Santiago de los Caballeros, the second largest Dominican city.
