The Supreme Court of Justice suspended La Altagracia province judge Teodoro Castillo for having granted an extraordinary number of provisional release orders. President of the Court, Dr. Jorge Subero Isa said that the Hig?ey judge had not denied any request for release under bail. Castillo was sent to a disciplinary trial. Judge Castillo justified his decisions explaining that Hig?ey jails are full beyond capacity. The Supreme Court of Justice has a reputation of being intolerant with corruption.
