Minister of Education Ligia Amada Melo spoke at the graduation of 178 inmates from the Najayo Public Jail in San Cristóbal. Sixty-eight of those who graduated were taught to read and write. The others took electricity, economics, informatics, sewing, hair-styling courses. Minister Melo announced the opening of a TV education program to prepare high school graduates, teach to read and write and teach computer sciences.
