The Municipality of Santo Domingo named the stretch that connects the Las Americas International Airport with the Las Americas Highway "Route 66" in honor of the record-breaking 66 home runs Sammy Sosa delivered in 1998. Johnny Ventura made the announcement when hosting Chicago Cubs’ slugger Sammy Sosa at the city hall last week.
