Baseball final series

The Aguilas Cibaeñas defeated the Estrellas Orientales 4-2 in their home stadium (Estadio Cibao) in Santiago last night, to again lead the Winter Baseball Championship. The Aguilas have won two games, and the Estrellas one. The series now moves back to San Pedro de Macorís (near Juan Dolio), home town of the Estrellas. The remaining games are: Friday, 28 January, Estrellas vs. Aguilas (Santiago), 8 pm Saturday, 29 January, Aguilas vs. Estrellas (San Pedro de Macorís), 8 pm Sunday, 30 January, Estrellas vs. Aguilas (Santiago), 4 pm The games are being televised in the DR on Friday, Saturday and Sunday by Antena Latina (Channel 7). The first team to win four games wins the series. The Aguilas Cibaeñas team is the favorite to win the championship. The Aguilas have won 14 championship titles, the Estrellas one. The winner of the Dominican Winter Baseball Championship goes on to play the best teams of Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Mexico in the Caribbean Baseball Championship that is slated to open in Santo Domingo, 2 February.
