The Civil Aviation Board accepted American Airlines request dated 5 January to reduce airline ticket commissions. The CAB reduced the commission from 10 to 6%, as requested by AA, the main carrier serving the Dominican Republic. Local travel agents had argued of the negative effects the reduction of the commission would have on their business, as well as the high profitability of AA operations to and from the DR.
