Antonio Isa Conde, president of the Commission for the Reform of Public Enterprise (CREP) announced that four foreign companies presented the documentation to participate in the competitive solicitation for Dominican Airlines. The state airline that has been closed for five years, would be capitalized, with private investors being granted 50% of the company shares, as well as managerial and operational control. Twenty companies expressed an interest in taking charge of Dominicana (CDA). Of these only four will be participating in the actual tender. These are: Friedman Turby & Co. Inc. (United States), represented by Otto Gold Ballon; Aserca Airlines (Venezuela), represented by Veronica Kundhardt; Lauda Air (Austria), represented by Gustavo de Hostos; and Allegro Air (Mexico), represented by María Luisa López.
