American Eagle, the commuter airline subsidiary of American Airlines, announced it has plans to fly to the Maria Montez International Airport in Barahona from San Juan, Puerto Rico starting this July. This would mark the start of regular flights to that southwestern airport. Galo Beltran, sales director for the Caribbean, Jose Machado, vice president and of Operations and Cesar Castillo, general director for the DR visited Barahona this week. The Listin Diario reports that they have plans to start a regular flight in November. Alex Santana, executive director of Aerodom, the company that manages the Barahona airport accompanied them.
