Amhsa and Casa Marina merge

Administración de Hoteles, S.A. and Casa Marina Hotels and Resorts have merged to form Amhsa-Marina, creating one of the leading hotel companies in the Caribbean. Oscar Peña will be the president of the new organization. The group now has 12 hotels, and 3,058 hotel rooms located in Puerto Plata, Samana, and San Pedro de Macorís provinces. The board of directors of the group is: Marino Ginebra, president; Luis López, vice president; Ricardo Pellerano, secretary; Oscar Peña, Rafael Cabrera and Carlos Domínguez, members. Jaime de Torquemada is the vice president of operations; Tirso Peña, vice president finance and Antonio Herrera is the marketing director. The Amhsa-Casa Marina hotels are: North: Puerto Plata Beach Resort and Casino (Puerto Plata) Paradise Beach club and Casino (Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata) Casa Marina Reef, Casa Marina Beach, Playa Escondida (Sosua, Puerto Plata) Northeast: Casa Marina Bay and Casa Marina Las Terrenas (Samaná) East: Casa del Mar (Bayahibe), Naiboa (Juan Dolio), Embassy (Guayacanes) (12 June 2000)
