Central Bank says that accumulated inflation for the first five months of the year was 0.45%. Inflation in May was 0.08%, similar to that of April, according to the Central Bank. Annualized inflation would then be 5.65% (May 1999 to May 2000). Central Bank estimate for year end inflation is 9%, taking into account effects of the increase in the cost of petroleum that so far have affected the cost of money in the DR.
