AES-Empresa Distribuidora del Este complained that the government maintains arrears of RD$235 million with that company. The private power distributor says that this has affected its finances. In a press release, the company said that its obligations with the CDE and the private generators are more than RD$350 million a month. It says that the government has not been making regular payments since January of this year. AES expressed hopes for reaching a friendly and honorable agreement to end the conflict that lead the company to suspend the service to 12 government institutions as an attempt a pressing the government to make payments.
