PRD secretary favors new law for INDOTEL

Secretary general of the Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD), Dr. Rafael Suberví Bonilla said that that political organization would use its political influence and majority in the legislative chambers to get around the recent appointment of a new director of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL). Suberví favors Congress passing a new bill that would modify Law 153-98 that created the Instituto Dominicano de Telecomunicaciones (INDOTEL), and with it the immovability of the chief executive. The law states that the incumbent will be four years on the job. The PRD wants to appoint their own director, and does not agree with the appointment of former Attorney General Mariano Germán to the post.
